Outdoor Waterproof Timer

Automate your projection. Never touch a switch again.

A 7-day programmable timer that switches your projectors on and off on the schedule you set. Wire several projectors onto one circuit and this one timer turns them all on together, and off again at closing time.

Add it on any eligible projector's page — it ships and installs with your order.

Outdoor Waterproof Timer

Why you'll want it

Fully automatic

Your projection turns on and off on schedule. No staff, no apps, no forgetting.

16 on/off programs, set by day

Pick the days for each program: weekdays only, weekends only, or every day.

One timer, a whole row of projectors

Every projector on the timer's circuit switches on and off together.

Projectors come back as you left them

Laser line projectors and our 300W and LY gobo projectors remember their mode, so they switch back on exactly as you set them.

One failure doesn't stop the row

The projectors are wired side by side (in parallel), so if one fails, the rest keep running.

Keeps time through outages

A 3-year battery backup holds the clock and your programs when the power drops.

Saves energy and LED life

Projectors run only when they're needed.

What it can and can't do

It can

  • Switch one power circuit on and off on a weekly schedule: up to 16 ON and 16 OFF times.
  • Run a different schedule on different days, such as Monday to Friday only.
  • Turn on every projector wired to that circuit at the same moment.
  • Count down from 1 minute to 168 hours.
  • Keep its clock and programs for up to 3 years without power.
  • Let you override it by hand: ON, OFF or back to AUTO.

It can't

  • Change a projector's mode, color or pattern. It only switches the power. Set each projector once with its own remote.
  • Run different projectors on different schedules. One timer gives the whole circuit one schedule; for two schedules, use two timers on two circuits.
  • Plug into a wall socket. It mounts on a DIN rail with screw terminals, so a licensed electrician installs it and wires the projectors onto its circuit.
  • Sit out in the rain. The timer isn't waterproof: outdoors, it goes inside a weatherproof electrical enclosure.
  • Control lights mounted on a forklift. Those run from the truck's own battery.

How many projectors can one timer run?

There's no fixed number. It depends on how much power all the projectors on the circuit draw together.

Diagram: one outdoor timer switches one circuit, and every projector on that circuit turns on together
  1. 1Add up the watts. Use the wattage on each projector's spec sheet. Example: ten 40W laser line projectors = 400W.
  2. 2Leave room for the startup surge. Projectors draw a short spike of current (inrush) the moment they switch on. For your electrician, a laser line's startup current is 0.7A (10W), 1A (20W), 1.1A (30W) or 1.5A (40W).
  3. 3Stay well inside the 16A rating. At 110V, plan on about 20 laser lines at 40W, or about 2 gobo projectors at 300W, per timer. That keeps a safe margin for the surge.
  4. 4Too many for one timer? Split the projectors across two timers, each on its own circuit.

How to operate it

  1. 1Set the clock: hold the CLOCK key, then tap Day, Hour and Minute to set the current day and time.
  2. 2Start a program: press P once. The screen shows “1 ON” (your first turn-on time).
  3. 3Set the ON time with Hour and Minute, then press Day to pick the days it runs: every day, weekdays only, weekends only, or one day.
  4. 4Press P again. The screen shows “1 OFF.” Set the turn-off time the same way.
  5. 5Repeat P to add more on/off cycles (up to 16 ON / 16 OFF). If you only need one cycle a day, you’re done.
  6. 6Press the CLOCK key to finish. Slide the manual switch to AUTO so the timer runs your schedule.
  7. 7Anytime override: slide the manual switch to ON (always on) or OFF (always off); return it to AUTO to resume the schedule.

Tip: set each projector's mode and color with its own remote once, at install. After that the timer only switches the power. Enter times in order (earliest to latest) and don’t overlap cycles; the timer saves and exits after about 10 seconds of no input.

Questions, answered

What does the timer do?

It switches the power to your projectors on and off on a weekly schedule you set, for example on at dusk and off at midnight, so your projection runs exactly when you want without anyone flipping a switch.

How many projectors can one timer run?

The timer is rated 16A. At 110V, plan on about 20 laser lines at 40W, or about 2 gobo projectors at 300W, per timer; that leaves margin for the surge every projector draws as it switches on. Send us your list and we'll check it. Too many for one timer? Use a second timer on a second circuit.

Can I run some projectors on a different schedule?

Not from one timer. A timer gives everything on its circuit the same schedule. Put the projectors that need a different schedule on a second circuit with a second timer.

Can I set it to run on weekdays only?

Yes. Each of the 16 programs is set to the days you choose with the Day key: weekdays, weekends, every day, or single days.

Do the projectors come back on in the same mode?

Yes. Laser line projectors and our 300W and LY gobo projectors remember their mode and switch back on as you left them. Set each one once with its own remote at install.

Who installs it?

A licensed electrician. The timer mounts on a DIN rail and connects with screw terminals rather than a plug. The projectors are wired in parallel, so if one fails the others keep running. Laser line startup current for the electrician: 0.7A (10W), 1A (20W), 1.1A (30W), 1.5A (40W).

Will it lose my schedule in a power outage?

No. A 3-year battery backup keeps the clock and your programs.

Can it be mounted outdoors?

Only inside a weatherproof electrical enclosure. The timer itself isn't waterproof, so mount it indoors or in a sealed box.

Does it work on 110V?

Yes. There is a 110V version for US installs, and a 220–240V version.
