Retail & Storefront Projection Solutions

Turn your storefront into a customer magnet

In retail, attention equals revenue. If people don't notice your store, they don't walk in.

LED logo projectors let you project your brand directly onto sidewalks, storefronts and nearby surfaces — turning your location into a high-visibility advertising space, static or on spin mode.

Infinity Projectors provides custom logo projection and projection-advertising solutions designed to help retail businesses stand out and drive foot traffic.

Why retailers use logo projection

Traditional signage is often overlooked in busy shopping areas. Projection is a more effective solution:

  • Grab attention from a distance
  • Increase foot traffic instantly
  • Stand out at night and in crowded environments
  • Promote sales and campaigns dynamically
  • Avoid expensive signage installations

Storefront logo projection

Create a visual "pull" that draws customers toward your store. Project your logo onto:

  • Sidewalks
  • Store entrances
  • Nearby walls or buildings
  • Mall corridors

Sales & promotion advertising

Unlike printed signs, projection updates quickly and cost-effectively. Easily promote:

  • Seasonal sales
  • New arrivals
  • Limited-time offers
  • Brand campaigns

Shopping centers & mall visibility

Perfect for high-traffic retail environments:

  • Highlight store locations in large malls
  • Direct foot traffic to your entrance
  • Stand out among competing brands

Window & indoor projection

Enhance your space inside and out:

  • Interior branding
  • Window projections for after-hours visibility
  • Ambient lighting effects

Best projector options for retail

Systems range from 7W to 1500W for the right brightness at any location:

  • Multi-lens projectors (4, 6, 8 lens) — rotating or static multi-image
  • High-wattage projectors — large storefronts or outdoor use
  • Embedded projectors — clean, integrated installations
  • Special-effects projectors — add motion and visual impact

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a retail logo projector used in real storefronts?

A gobo projector projects branding, logos or promotional messaging onto sidewalks, entrances, floors, walls or storefront areas — used outdoors to capture passing customers and indoors to enhance branding and experience.

Where should a retail store install a logo projector?

Place it where customers naturally look or walk:

  • Sidewalks directly in front of the store
  • Entry pathways and doorways
  • Mall corridors or shared walkways
  • Window displays and feature walls
Can retail projectors be installed at different angles?

Yes. Many installs project straight down (0°/90°) onto floors or entry areas for the most balanced image; projectors can also mount at an angle (typically up to ~30°) for walls or storefronts. Permanent installs can achieve greater angles with the right lens and mounting.

How effective is projection for increasing foot traffic?

Very — it places your branding directly in the customer's path, stands out in crowded environments, performs especially well at night, and creates movement and contrast that converts passing traffic into in-store visits.

Can I project onto storefront windows?

Yes, with planning. Window projection works for after-hours branding and interior-to-exterior visibility, but for larger or detailed projections solid surfaces give stronger impact — transparency and reflections can reduce visibility.

Can I change promotions or branding easily?

Yes. Interchangeable gobos let you swap messaging in seconds — ideal for sales, seasonal campaigns, new launches and brand updates.

Are retail projectors suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. Many systems come in weather-resistant, outdoor-rated (IP65) configurations suitable for exterior storefronts when properly installed.

Do retail projectors require maintenance?

Minimal. Unlike signage there are no materials that wear out — just keep the lens clean, ensure proper installation, and inspect occasionally.

How do I determine the right system for my storefront?

It depends on mounting location/height, throw distance, desired projection size and ambient light. Our team evaluates your setup to recommend the right projector output, lens and placement.

What hours should I run my storefront projection?

Dusk to close is the sweet spot — projections pop the moment ambient light drops, which is exactly when your storefront needs to work hardest. An outdoor timer add-on automates it so your logo appears every evening without anyone flipping a switch. Many stores keep it running past closing, too: the projection keeps marketing to evening foot traffic for pennies while the store sleeps.

Will my sidewalk logo wash out under streetlights?

Not if the wattage matches the setting. A streetlit sidewalk counts as "average" ambient light — from our wattage chart, that means roughly 30–35W for a projector mounted 10 feet up and 50–55W at 13 feet, and stepping up one tier keeps it extra vivid. Aim the logo into the natural pool of darkness between streetlights when you can, and use a bold, high-contrast design. Our Projector Finder will confirm the exact wattage for your mounting spot.

How much does it cost to run a storefront logo projector every night?

About 17 cents a night. A 100W projector running a full 10-hour evening uses roughly 1 kilowatt-hour — around $5 a month at typical US electricity rates (~$0.17/kWh). That's why storefronts simply run it every single evening: it's lit signage for pennies, and an outdoor timer add-on switches it on at dusk and off at close automatically.

Do I need a permit to project my logo outside my store?

On your own property — your entryway, patio, interior floors and windows — you generally don't need one; it's your light on your surface. Public sidewalks vary by city: some treat a projected logo as signage under the local sign ordinance, while many don't address projection at all. The practical playbook: aim from your own property, keep it tasteful and non-blinding, and check with your city's zoning or sign office before making a public-sidewalk projection permanent. Because it's only light, you can always reposition it in minutes.
