Color Temperature Guide
CUSTOM WARM-TO-COOL WHITE FOR GOBO & LOGO PROJECTORS
Choosing Warm, Neutral, or Cool White
Every Infinity gobo/logo projector ships standard at 8500K, a crisp cool white. If that's not the look your install needs, the color temperature can be custom-ordered anywhere from a warm 2700K to a cool 9000K — the same range professional architectural lighting uses to warm up a hotel entrance or cool down a retail storefront.
The Short Version
8500K standard is included, with no charge and no delay. Any other value is a real custom order: $148.88 for the first unit, then cheaper per unit the more you order (down to $20/unit for 10+), and about one extra week in production. There is no colored-LED option — every setting here is a shade of white, never amber, blue, green, or red.
The Real Range — A Visual Reference
Color temperature is measured in Kelvin (K). Lower numbers look warmer (more amber); higher numbers look cooler (more blue-white). Nothing here is a saturated color — it's all white light, shifted along one axis. The colors below are computed from the standard blackbody color-temperature formula (the same math color-accurate lighting and photography tools use), not hand-picked.
2700K
Warm white
Hospitality entrances, stone & brick facades, restaurants.
3000K
Warm white
Warm architectural accents, wood & warm-toned surfaces.
4000K
Neutral white
General branding, lobbies, mixed indoor/outdoor use.
5000K
Neutral white
Everyday commercial signage, event branding.
6500K
Daylight white
Matches daylight-balanced storefronts and signage.
7500K
Cool white
Retail, modern glass & metal facades.
8000K
Cool white
Retail, security & safety signage.
8500K
Standard — included
What every Infinity projector ships with. No charge, no delay.
9000K
Cool white
Maximum contrast retail and signage, coolest available.
Swatches are an approximation of real blackbody color temperature for visual reference — actual appearance varies slightly by surface, ambient light, and camera/screen.
What “Color Temperature” Actually Means
Color temperature describes how warm or cool a white light looks — it has nothing to do with heat, and nothing to do with color in the red/green/blue sense. A 2700K bulb looks like an old incandescent bulb: amber, cozy, warm. A 9000K light looks crisp, blue-tinted, almost daylight-through-a-window cool. Everything in between is a gradient of white between those two.
This is not the same thing as a colored gobo light. If you're picturing an amber, red, green, or blue projection, that's a different product decision entirely — and per our vendor's own spec, single fixed colors like amber, blue, green, or red LEDs are not available on these projectors. Every color temperature option here is a shade of white.
Pricing & Lead Time
8500K (standard) is included — no charge, no delay. This is what ships if you don't pick anything else. Any other value (2700K–9000K) is a real custom order, priced per unit, cheaper the more you order:
1st unit
each, units 2–9
each, unit 10 and up
Example: 12 units at a custom color temperature = $148.88 (1st) + 8 × $25.00 (units 2–9) + 3 × $20.00 (units 10–12) = $408.88 total for the upgrade.
Minimum order quantity is 1 unit — you don't need to buy multiples to get a custom color temperature. Custom orders add about one week to production, since the LED is built to your spec rather than pulled from stock.
Which Projectors Offer Adjustable Color Temperature
Color temperature customization applies across our gobo and logo projector lines — Power Prince, Custom Indoor, Titan/High Wattage, 4/6/8-Gobo (static and spin), Water Ripple, Dual Lens, Walking Light, ExtendArm, FlexMount, Stealth Embedded and other embedded/recessed models, and our Solar-Powered line. You'll see the “Color temperature” dropdown right on the product page for any of these.
It does not apply to our Laser Line projectors (safety-line and laser-guide projectors) — those use a laser diode, not an LED, so color temperature doesn't apply to them the same way.
Not sure if your product has it? Browse our multi-gobo projectors, outdoor projectors, or use the projector finder — if the dropdown isn't on the page, that model ships in one fixed configuration.
