Clean, untinted glass passes most of the light, but each pane costs roughly 8–15% of the brightness, and tinted or Low-E coated glass cuts more — so plan a wattage tier higher if your glass is coated. One distinction worth knowing: projecting through a window onto the sidewalk works with clear glass, but projecting onto glass so the image shows on the window itself requires rear-projection film or a frosted surface — clear glass won't catch an image.
