A glass gobo is a coated glass disc that lets your projector cast a full-color image — multi-color logos, gradients, even photographic detail. Infinity fabricates every gobo we cut, full-color or single-color, on glass — never steel/metal. Every Infinity projector ships with two free full-color glass gobos.
Both project a crisp image — the difference is color and detail. Infinity fabricates every gobo on glass; steel is shown here for comparison only.
| Glass gobo | Steel gobo | |
|---|---|---|
| Color | Full color — multi-color logos, gradients, photos | Single color (the color of the light) |
| Detail | Fine, photographic detail and smooth shading | Bold shapes, text, and line art |
| Best for | Brand logos with color, imagery, rich artwork | Clean single-color logos, patterns, text |
| Cost | A bit more — and 2 come free with every projector | Cheaper industry-wide, but Infinity doesn't fabricate steel — order minimums are too high for custom one-off art |
| Durability | Coated glass disc — handle by the edges | Precision-cut metal — very rugged |
A glass gobo is a small glass disc, coated and etched with your image, that a projector shines light through to cast that image onto a surface. Unlike a steel (metal) gobo, a glass gobo can hold full color and photographic detail — so multi-color logos, gradients, and rich artwork project accurately. It's the same idea as any gobo, just made from coated glass so it can carry color.
A glass gobo projects full color and fine detail — perfect for multi-color logos, gradients, and imagery. A steel gobo is a precision-cut metal stencil that projects a single color (whatever color the light is), which industry-wide is ideal for clean logos, text, and patterns. Infinity only fabricates gobos on glass, though — full-color or single-color — because true steel requires order minimums too high for custom one-off art. So a single-color pick from us is still cut on glass, not metal.
Choose full-color glass whenever your design has more than one color, uses gradients or shading, or is a photographic or detailed image. If your logo is a single bold color or simple text, a single-color glass gobo is the lower-cost option. Every Infinity projector includes two free full-color glass gobos, so most customers start there — and everything we cut, single-color included, is glass, not steel.
Yes — every Infinity projector ships with two free full-color custom glass gobos, cut from your artwork. That means you get true color from the start, not a single-color stand-in. Additional glass gobos are priced per disc and get cheaper by quantity, and we keep your art on file for one-click reorders.
Your first two full-color glass gobos are free with every projector. Beyond that, additional full-color glass gobos start at $88.88 each and drop with volume — down to $38.88 each at 31 or more. A one-time $50 art & handling charge applies to custom orders. Ask us for single-color glass gobo pricing if color isn't needed for your art.
Handle it by the edges only — fingerprints on the image surface can show up in the projection. To clean, gently wipe the image side with a microfiber lens cloth (a little lens cleaner if needed); never use paper towels or harsh solvents. The glass itself doesn't wear out, so a careful wipe keeps the projection crisp for years.
