The best surface on the property is usually the one with no power anywhere near it.
The Infinity Solar Gobo Projector runs entirely on its own solar panel and battery. No trench, no conduit, no electrician, no meter. It charges through the day, senses dusk on its own and switches itself on. 20W, 40W or 60W, from $598.88, IP65, with two free full-color custom gobos.
Every other projector needs a cable back to a supply. That single requirement is what kills most outdoor projection ideas before they start — and it is almost never the projector that costs the money.
Put those together and a solar unit is frequently cheaper installed than a mains projector that costs less to buy.
An automatic light sensor is built in. The unit charges through the day, detects dusk and switches itself on — then off again at dawn. Nobody sets a timer, nobody remembers to flip a switch, and nothing needs doing when the seasons change the sunset by two hours.
For a site nobody visits after dark — a park, an entrance road, a remote sign — that is the difference between a projection that runs every night and one that runs until somebody forgets.
The usual rule applies: the wattage answers the light already on the surface, not the size of the projection.
One consideration unique to solar: the runtime depends on what the panel collected that day. A shaded or north-facing position, or a run of overcast winter days, gives you less. Site the panel where it gets real sun, and when you are between two wattages, take the higher one — the headroom matters more here than on a mains fixture.
Lens number × distance = image width. The standard 1:0.33 lens gives a 3.3 ft projection from 10 ft away, and eight lens options are available.
Aim within about 30 degrees of straight-on to the surface, or the projection stretches on one side and lettering leans.
Solar adds a second aim to think about: the projector wants the wall, and the panel wants the sun. On an open site that is easy. Where it is not, tell us the orientation and we will work through the position with you before you order. Keystone correction covers a position the site fixes for you.
Two custom full-color gobos are included free, made from your artwork — a logo file, a sign file, or a photograph of existing signage. Our team prepares it for projection at no charge and sends a proof before anything is cut. Order more any time.
IP65 rated for permanent outdoor installation, and specified from −20°C to 60°C (−4°F to 140°F). Once it is up, there is no cable to damage, no supply to fail and nothing to switch — which is a large part of why these end up on sites nobody wants to keep visiting.
Solar goes where cable does not, so the interesting installs are the ones that were previously impossible. A projection on a barn across a field. A trail marker two miles from the nearest supply. A logo on the rock at the entrance to an estate. A monument sign that lights itself every night for years and never appears on a bill.
Freight is included free to just about anywhere in the world. Grounds and multi-site schemes are quoted as projects — send the positions, the surfaces and the sun orientation through the quote form. Mix Match & Save covers smaller multi-unit orders.
Correct — it runs entirely on its own solar panel and battery. No trench, no conduit, no electrician, no new circuit and nothing on the meter. That is usually the expensive part of an outdoor projection job, not the projector.
A built-in automatic light sensor. It charges through the day, detects dusk and turns itself on, then off at dawn. No timer to set and nothing to adjust as the seasons move sunset around.
It depends on what the panel collected that day. Site the panel where it gets real sun and expect less after a run of overcast winter days. This is the one place solar asks something of you that a mains fixture does not.
Judge the light already on the surface. 20W for genuinely dark sites, 40W for a car park or grounds with some ambient light, 60W for larger projections, longer distances or nearby street lighting. With solar, when in doubt take the higher wattage — the headroom matters more here.
Then it is the wrong site for solar, or the panel needs to go somewhere the projector does not. Tell us the orientation and the shade and we will tell you honestly whether it will work before you order.
Lens × distance — 3.3 ft wide from 10 ft on the standard 1:0.33 lens. Eight lens options are available, and on an open site you usually get to choose the mounting distance too, so the lens and the position can be planned together.
Within about 30 degrees of straight-on. Solar adds a second consideration: the projector wants the wall and the panel wants the sun. On an open site that is straightforward; where it is not, send us the orientation.
Two, free, in full color and made from your artwork, with a proof before anything is cut.
Yes — IP65 and specified from −20°C to 60°C (−4°F to 140°F). With no cable and no supply there is also less to go wrong.
Often, once the installation is counted. The fixture costs more than a comparable mains unit; the trenching, conduit, electrician and new circuit it removes usually cost far more than the difference — and there is no running cost afterwards.
Yes, and that is a real advantage. Unbolt it and re-site it. A hardwired projector is where you trenched to.
1–2 weeks including your custom gobos.
Most businesses never consider their best surface because there is no power near it. Solar removes the only real objection — and the wall at the end of the drive, the rock at the entrance, the barn across the field all become signage that costs nothing to run. Join The Projection Revolution ∞

Yes. High wattage projectors are built for larger spaces and longer distances. They spread light over wider areas while maintaining clarity.
Yes, but this may shorten its lifespan. Projectors are rated for about 8 hours of daily use. Extended runtimes should be used sparingly or with models built for continuous use.
Projecting onto tall buildings can be challenging if there isn’t a mounting point across from the surface. Angles beyond 25–30° distort logos. Alternate setups or additional planning may be required.
