A floor sign projector is a light fixture mounted above a work area that projects a safety sign, lane marking or hazard symbol onto the floor using an etched glass disc called a gobo. Instead of painting or taping a marking onto the floor, you cast it in bright light. To change the sign, you swap the gobo — there's no repainting, no floor prep and no downtime.
For markings that change or take heavy traffic, usually yes. Paint and tape crack, peel and get worn away by forklift wheels, pallets and cleaning, then have to be redone. A projected sign is light — nothing physical touches the floor to wear off — so it stays crisp, and you can move or change it in minutes when your layout changes.
Yes. Infinity projectors have an IP65-rated (dust- and water-resistant) housing and operate from −20°C to 60°C (−4°F to 140°F), so they hold up in dusty warehouses, wash-down factory areas, cold storage and covered dock areas. The power supply accepts universal AC (85–265V) and plugs into a standard outlet.
You swap the gobo — the glass disc that holds the image. Power down, open the housing with the supplied tool, lift the old gobo out by its edges, drop in the new one, and re-focus. A multi-gobo model holds several signs at once, so you can rotate through them or switch with the remote — no repainting a floor, ever.
It depends on the mounting height, the size of the projected sign and how much ambient/overhead light is present. Wattage ranges from 35W for a smaller, shaded floor area up to 1500W for a large, brightly-lit space or a big projected zone.
