• Upgrade Power Supply Upgrade — rated life: up to 50,000 hours under typical conditions.

What Does the Power Supply Do?

Every projector needs a power supply (sometimes called a driver) to convert the electricity from your wall outlet into the correct, stable power the projector’s LEDs and electronics require.

What a higher-quality power supply can help with

• Provide more stable power to the LEDs
• Handle heat and long run times better
• Help extend the overall lifespan of the projector system

It doesn’t change the brightness or image quality by itself, but it can help your projector run more reliably over time.

What Is a Mean Well / Mingwei Power Supply?

MEAN WELL / MINGWEI is a globally recognized manufacturer of industrial-grade power supplies. They’ve been in the power electronics industry for decades and are widely used in:

• LED lighting and signage

• Commercial installations that run for many hours every day

When you select the Mean Well Power Supply option on your Infinity Projectors product page, you’re choosing to have your projector built with a Mean Well driver instead of the standard generic power supply.

What Factors Affect How Long My Projector Will Last?

1. Daily Runtime

• The Mean Well power supply upgrade makes your projector more robust and can help extend its lifespan, but it’s still not designed to run nonstop. We recommend using your projector for no more than 8–10 hours per day.
• Running the projector for very long hours (especially 24/7 operation) puts extra stress on both the power system and the LEDs and will cause the projector to wear out faster

2. Heat and Ventilation

• High temperatures shorten electronics and LED lifespan.
• Very hot rooms, tight enclosures, or direct sunlight may age systems faster.
• Good airflow and avoiding enclosed, unventilated spaces help extend life.

3. Environment (Indoor vs Outdoor)

• Outdoor or semi-outdoor installs face temperature swings, humidity, dust, and moisture.
• Harsher environments reduce lifespan compared to clean, climate-controlled indoor spaces.

4. Power Quality

• Unstable mains power, surges, or brownouts can stress any power supply.
• Surge protection and properly rated extension cords/power strips can help protect your projector.

5. Mounting & Maintenance

• Keep vents clear of dust and ensure the projector isn’t blocked or overheated.
• Secure mounting reduces vibration and physical stress over time.

Because of these variables, we describe lifespan as “up to 30,000 hours” (standard) and “up to 50,000 hours” (Mean Well) rather than promising a fixed number of hours.

Who Should Choose the Power Supply Upgrade?

The Mean Well / Mingwei power supply is designed for longer life and more stable, efficient performance. It’s a smart upgrade in almost any situation, and is especially valuable when:

• Your projector is part of a business, hotel, bar, restaurant, or venue setup
• The projection will be used as ongoing branding or signage over months or years
• You want the most robust and reliable option from day one, with components built for heavier-duty use
• You’d like to reduce the chances of power-related issues (voltage dips, surges, frequent on/off cycles)

The standard power supply is suitable for occasional events, rentals, or short-term campaigns where budget is the main priority. For most commercial installs and long-term branding, the Mean Well upgrade is highly recommended for extra durability and smoother performance—while still following our guidance of limiting runtime to about 8–10 hours per day.

Will the Power Supply Upgrade Change My Turnaround Time?

No. Upgrading to a Mean Well / Mingwei power supply does not increase our turnaround times.

• Your order follows the same estimated production and shipping timeframe shown on the product page and at checkout.
• We integrate the Mean Well driver as part of our normal assembly process, so you still receive your projector within standard lead times.

You’re getting a higher-grade power supply, but without any extra waiting.
