INFINITY Starry Sky Laser Projector | 20W–30W Waterproof Outdoor Starfield Light

A night sky you can put on a ceiling that has never seen one.

The Infinity Starry Sky lays a dense field of small stars across a surface — a bedroom ceiling, a restaurant soffit, a marquee lining, the underside of a canopy, a garden wall. Tighter and denser than a firefly effect, and closer to looking up on a clear night than to any lighting product people expect.

20W or 30W, from $288.88, waterproof and built for outdoor use.

Starfield, not fireflies

We sell two decorative effect projectors and people mix them up, so here is the honest difference.

The Starry Sky is dense and tight. It puts a lot of small stars into a defined area on a narrower lens, and it is at its best on a surface you look at — a ceiling, a canopy lining, a feature wall.

The Firefly is sparse and drifting. Fewer, larger points, always in slow motion, spread very wide across a garden or a lawn. Buy it for atmosphere across an open space rather than a surface.

How much area does it cover?

Same arithmetic as everything else we sell: lens number × distance = coverage width. The Starry Sky uses a 1:1.2 lens, wide enough to fill a room from one corner but tighter than the Firefly, which is what keeps the stars dense rather than scattered.

Distance from the surfaceCoverage width at 1:1.2
8 ft9.6 ft
10 ft12 ft
15 ft18 ft
20 ft24 ft
30 ft36 ft

The trade-off worth understanding: move it further back and you cover more, but the same number of stars now has more area to fill, so the field thins. For a dense, convincing night sky, mount closer than you think and use more than one unit for a large ceiling. We will work it out with you.

Choosing between 20W and 30W

  • 20W — bedrooms, small ceilings, covered terraces, marquee linings, and any genuinely dark space at shorter range.
  • 30W — larger ceilings, longer distances, exterior walls, and anywhere with ambient light — a restaurant with table candles, a garden with a lit house behind it.

Starfields live or die on contrast. Any light on the surface competes directly with the stars, so if there is any doubt, take the 30W — there is no lens or setting that recovers a washed-out starfield.

Class 3B: how these are installed safely

This is a Class 3B laser product, and we would rather be straightforward about what that means than bury it. Class 3B light is hazardous to the eye on direct exposure to the beam.

In practice, that shapes the install rather than preventing it:

  • Mount it above head height and aim it away from where people stand. The projection is meant for foliage, canopies, walls, lawns and ceilings — surfaces, not faces.
  • Never aim it toward a road, a footpath at eye level, or any flight path.
  • Do not look into the lens, and keep it out of reach of children.
  • Fix it properly so it cannot be knocked into a new aim.

Installed the way it is designed to be — up high, pointed at a surface — it is a decorative light like any other. If you are unsure whether your position is a safe one, send us the setup and we will tell you honestly.

Where the Starry Sky goes

  • Restaurants and bars — a ceiling that becomes the reason people photograph the room.
  • Marquees and event linings — a night sky inside a tent, whatever the weather outside is doing.
  • Hotel rooms, spas and quiet spaces — the effect people remember from the stay.
  • Covered terraces, pergolas and canopies — waterproof, so it lives out there.
  • Bedrooms and children's rooms — mounted out of reach and aimed at the ceiling.
  • Garden walls and planting — a dense field across a surface after dark.

Configure it to your install

  • Power cord length — 6 ft to 75 ft, for a ceiling or garden position that is nowhere near an outlet.
  • Power supply upgrade — Mean Well, for a fixture that runs every evening in a commercial space. Takes the light engine from 30,000 hours on the standard power supply to 50,000 hours — the manufacturer does not recommend running it 24 hours a day, so pair it with a timer if the fixture would otherwise stay on around the clock.

Waterproof, and built to stay out

Rated for permanent outdoor installation — pergolas, canopies, garden walls, terraces. Put it on a timer and it will run a whole season without anyone touching it.

Worldwide shipping and larger orders

Freight is included free to just about anywhere in the world. Ceilings and marquees usually take more than one unit to stay dense — send the dimensions through the quote form and we will tell you how many it actually needs. Mix Match & Save covers smaller combinations.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work on US power? What voltage does it need?

Yes. Every unit is manufactured with a wide-voltage input of 110–240V AC, so it runs on standard US 120V mains straight out of the box — and on 220–240V anywhere else in the world without a converter. If you have seen figures like 24–36V or 165–265V on a spec sheet, those describe the driver's internal DC output, not the voltage at your wall.

What does the Starry Sky do?

It lays a dense field of small stars across a surface — a ceiling, a canopy lining, a feature wall, a garden wall. Closer to looking up on a clear night than to what people expect from a lighting product.

How is it different from the Firefly?

Density and motion. The Starry Sky is dense and tight on a narrower lens, best on a surface you look at. The Firefly is sparse and always drifting, spread very wide for atmosphere across an open space like a lawn or a terrace.

How much will one cover?

Lens × distance, on a 1:1.2 lens — 12 ft across from 10 ft away, 24 ft from 20 ft. But covering more area with the same number of stars thins the field, so mount closer than you would think for a convincing sky, and use more than one on a large ceiling.

20W or 30W?

20W for bedrooms, small ceilings, marquee linings and genuinely dark spaces. 30W for larger ceilings, longer distances, exterior walls and anywhere with ambient light. Starfields live on contrast, and nothing recovers a washed-out one — so when in doubt, take the 30W.

Can I project a logo with it?

No — there is no gobo slot. This is a decorative effect. For a logo, see our gobo projector range.

Is it safe? It says Class 3B.

Class 3B light is hazardous to the eye on direct exposure, so it is mounted above head height and aimed at a surface — a ceiling, a canopy, a wall — never toward people, roads or flight paths, and kept out of reach of children. Installed that way it is a decorative light like any other.

Can it go in a child's bedroom?

It is used that way often, and the rule is the same as any Class 3B product: mounted well out of reach and aimed at the ceiling, never at eye level and never where it can be picked up or knocked into a new aim.

Can it stay outside?

Yes — it is waterproof and built for permanent outdoor installation on pergolas, canopies, terraces and garden walls.

How many do I need for a restaurant ceiling?

More than one, usually. A single unit pushed far enough back to cover a whole ceiling gives a thin field rather than a night sky. Send the ceiling dimensions and height through the quote form.

How quickly can I get one?

1–2 weeks, shipped free worldwide.

What's the projection revolution?

A ceiling is the largest unused surface in almost every room, and nobody is allowed to touch it. Light puts a night sky on it, takes it away again in a second, and leaves the plaster exactly as it was. Join The Projection Revolution ∞
