INFINITY Firefly Laser Light | 10W–30W Outdoor Firefly Effect Projector
One fixture, a thousand points of light, drifting.
The Infinity Firefly scatters hundreds of tiny points of light across whatever you aim it at — a lawn, a canopy, a stand of trees, a bar ceiling — and keeps them slowly moving, the way real fireflies do over grass at dusk. It is not a logo projector and it is not a pattern projector. It is atmosphere, covering an entire area from a single small fixture.
10W, 20W or 30W, from $288.88, built for outdoor use and supplied with a remote.
What it actually looks like
Outdoors, over a lawn or through planting, it reads as warm and green — a field of small lights drifting across the grass and up into the trees, with the canopy of a marquee catching them overhead. The movement is slow and irregular, not a sweep or a strobe, which is exactly why it reads as fireflies rather than as a lighting effect.
Indoors it becomes something else entirely. Against dark surfaces — a lounge ceiling, a bar back, black tabletops — the points pick up as sharp colored specks and the whole room feels lit from nowhere in particular. Same fixture, completely different mood.
How much area does it cover?
The Firefly uses a very wide 1:2.5 lens, and the rule is the same as the rest of our range — lens number × distance = coverage width — only here the number works in your favour, because it is bigger than one.
| Distance from the area | Coverage width at 1:2.5 |
|---|---|
| 10 ft | 25 ft |
| 15 ft | 37 ft |
| 20 ft | 50 ft |
| 30 ft | 75 ft |
| 40 ft | 100 ft |
This is the point of the product. A single fixture 20 feet back covers a fifty-foot spread — a whole garden, a whole marquee, a whole terrace. Most decorative lighting needs a run of fittings and a cable route to do that. This needs one bracket and one outlet.
For very large gardens or long terraces, several units placed along the space overlap into one continuous field. Send us the dimensions and we will tell you how many it really takes.
Choosing between 10W, 20W and 30W
With this product the wattage governs how far it will throw and how strongly the points read against whatever ambient light is already there — not how many points there are.
- 10W — small gardens, courtyards, patios and interiors, at shorter distances with little competing light.
- 20W — the usual choice: a decent garden, a terrace, a marquee, a venue interior with lighting of its own.
- 30W — large grounds, longer distances, tall trees, and anywhere with real ambient light to fight.
Outdoor decorative work is nearly always darker than an install with signage on it, so the Firefly does not need the wattage a logo projector would. When you are between two tiers, take the higher one — the effect thins out at distance faster than people expect.
Class 3B: how these are installed safely
This is a Class 3B laser product, and we would rather be straightforward about what that means than bury it. Class 3B light is hazardous to the eye on direct exposure to the beam.
In practice, that shapes the install rather than preventing it:
- Mount it above head height and aim it away from where people stand. The projection is meant for foliage, canopies, walls, lawns and ceilings — surfaces, not faces.
- Never aim it toward a road, a footpath at eye level, or any flight path.
- Do not look into the lens, and keep it out of reach of children.
- Fix it properly so it cannot be knocked into a new aim.
Installed the way it is designed to be — up high, pointed at a surface — it is a decorative light like any other. If you are unsure whether your position is a safe one, send us the setup and we will tell you honestly.
Where the Firefly goes
- Wedding and event grounds — lawns, marquees and tree lines, set up in minutes and taken away the next day.
- Restaurant terraces and beer gardens — the reason people choose the outside table.
- Hotel grounds and resort landscaping — a whole garden lit from one point.
- Bars, lounges and nightclubs — against dark interiors it becomes a completely different, sharper effect.
- Private gardens and courtyards — permanent, weatherproof, on a timer.
- Seasonal and holiday displays — no ladders, no runs of cable, no untangling anything next year.
Configure it to your install

- Lens options — alternatives to the standard 1:2.5 where you want the points concentrated over a smaller area rather than spread wide.
- Power cord length — 6 ft to 75 ft, which matters in a garden where the nearest outlet is on the house.
- Power supply upgrade — Mean Well, for a fixture that lives outside and runs every evening. Takes the light engine from 30,000 hours on the standard power supply to 50,000 hours — the manufacturer does not recommend running it 24 hours a day, so pair it with a timer if the fixture would otherwise stay on around the clock.
- Extra remotes — one for the house, one for wherever the party is.
Built to stay outside
The Firefly is built for permanent outdoor installation and for evening-after-evening running. Fix it once in a flower bed, under an eave or up a tree, put it on a timer, and it does the rest of the season without being touched.

Frequently asked questions
Will it work on US power? What voltage does it need?
Yes. Every unit is manufactured with a wide-voltage input of 110–240V AC, so it runs on standard US 120V mains straight out of the box — and on 220–240V anywhere else in the world without a converter. If you have seen figures like 24–36V or 165–265V on a spec sheet, those describe the driver's internal DC output, not the voltage at your wall.
What does the Firefly actually do?
It scatters hundreds of tiny points of light across whatever you aim it at and keeps them slowly drifting — the way fireflies move over grass at dusk. Outdoors it reads warm and green across lawns and tree lines; indoors, against dark surfaces, the points sharpen into colored specks and the room feels lit from nowhere.
Can it project my logo?
No. This is an effect projector with no gobo slot. For a logo or a message, you want a gobo projector — the PowerPrince outdoors or the indoor range.
How much area will one cover?
Coverage width = lens × distance, and the standard lens is a very wide 1:2.5 — so 25 ft of spread from 10 ft back, 50 ft from 20 ft, 100 ft from 40 ft. One fixture genuinely covers a whole garden or marquee.
How many do I need for a large garden?
Often just one. For very large grounds or a long terrace, several placed along the space overlap into a single continuous field. Send us the dimensions and we will give you a straight answer rather than overselling it.
Which wattage should I choose?
10W for courtyards, patios and interiors at short range; 20W for a typical garden, terrace or marquee; 30W for large grounds, tall trees and longer distances. When you are between two, take the higher — the effect thins at distance faster than people expect.
Is it safe? It says Class 3B.
Class 3B light is hazardous to the eye on direct exposure, which is why it is installed above head height and aimed at surfaces — foliage, canopies, walls, lawns — never toward people, roads or flight paths. Fixed properly and aimed correctly it is a decorative light like any other. If you are unsure about your position, send us the setup.
Can it stay outside all year?
Yes — it is built for permanent outdoor installation and for running every evening. Put it on a timer and it will do a whole season untouched.
Does it work indoors?
Very well, and it looks like a different product. Against dark ceilings, bar backs and black tabletops the points read as sharp colored specks rather than the soft warm drift you get over a lawn.
Does it come with a remote?
Yes, and you can add spares — useful when the fixture is at the bottom of a garden.
How is it different from the Starry Sky?
The Firefly drifts — scattered points in slow, irregular motion over a wide area. The Starry Sky is a denser, tighter starfield on a narrower lens, for a night-sky look on a ceiling or a wall rather than a field of moving fireflies.
How quickly can I get one?
1–2 weeks, shipped free worldwide.
What's the projection revolution?
Lighting a whole garden used to mean a run of fittings, a cable route and an electrician. One small fixture on one bracket now does it, and takes the whole effect away with it when the event ends. Join The Projection Revolution ∞
